The Good Message
For many people groups the Bible is a foreign book. It is hard for them to fully understand the Gospel.
But God wants everyone to understand the Good News.
The Bible in the Language of the Heart
We want to enable disadvantaged people groups to read Scripture in the language that touches their heart.

Good To Know
Fun facts about Ethiopia
- Three times as big as the UK.
- More than 82 different local languages.
- The name “Ethiopia” comes from the ancient Greek word aithiops, meaning “burnt face”.
- The Ethiopian calendar has 13 months, the last of which has only 5 to 6 days. The current year using their calendar is 2018.
- The time starts with sunrise (like in Biblical times), so nine o'clock means 3 pm.
- Ethiopia has never been colonised; the Italians failed in their two attempts.
- Amharic used to be the only official national language, but only a few years ago four other languages were recognized at a national level.
Where does the money go?
Wycliffe UK will forward donations from the UK to Wycliffe Germany. From the German office we will receive a fixed salary each month. This also covers insurances and travel costs. Surplus donations in any month will remain on our work account as a buffer and become the salary of a later month.
